Today's Specialty Food Consumers:
They
What
Spend
Looking into how inflation impacts spending, it seems safe to say that a majority of the
market is watching prices more closely than they have in many years. Retailers and
makers will do best to highlight e orts being made to mitigate the strain on budgets.
The percentage of consumers buying less expensive options is higher than in 2022
for all eight of the segments included in the survey. "Have not changed purchase
behavior" ranges from 51 percent to 33 percent in all eight segments, which is down an
average of five percentage points from 2022.
