ISAM 2023 Congress More than 250 scientists, phy- sicians, regulators and engineers met for the 24th ISAM Congress, which was held August 26-30, 2023 in Saarbrücken, Germany. Repre- senting the ISAM journal is editor Tim O'Riordan (US). With the attenuation of the COVID-19 pandemic, the new board was able to conduct their first meeting in person in Saarbrücken. Congratulations to the 2023 ISAM Awardees Also at the 2023 Congress, the fol- lowing individuals were honored with key awards. e 2023 Career Achievement Award recognizes a senior investigator whose body of work demonstrates a lifetime of outstanding achievement in aero- sol science and was presented to Kim Chan (Australia). e 2023 omas T. Mercer Award, jointly sponsored by ISAM and the American Association for Aero- sol Research (AAAR), is based on the achievement of excellence in the field of medicinal aerosols and inhalable materials and was presented to Chantal Darquenne (US). e 2023 Jurai Ferin Award, given to an ISAM member for their outstanding contribution to ISAM, was awarded to Sabine Häußermann (Germany). e 2023 Young Investigator Award, presented to a scientist younger than 40 years old who has made significant contributions to the field of aerosols in medicine, was awarded to Hui Xin Ong (Aus- tralia). e 2023 Willi Stahlhofen Award for outstanding experi- mental research published in the JAMPDD was awarded to Conor Ruzycki (US). e 2023 Student Research Award, given to a student who has demonstrated outstand- ing independent research in the field of aerosols, was awarded to Michael Neary (Ireland). e best oral presentation was awarded to Arunima Sengupta (Switzerland).
