Sea Glass Kitchen — This bright and airy
coastal kitchen design features a 100-year-old
barn wood beam and hood elements, beautiful
inset cabinetry, and polished dolomite through-
out. This timeless kitchen provides all the
functionality for a large family while keeping a
sophisticated and elegant aesthetic.
Our objective was to design an open, airy,
elegant yet casual and unfussy space for the
family to get together and make memories.
Rather than working against the existing
columns, we embraced them by adding trim
and making them the beautiful bookends of our
grand island. To maximize storage, deep roll-
out shelves were placed in the tall pantry
cabinet for easy access, hidden cabinets were
added to the island, and we went as tall as
possible with the upper cabinets. To address
the non-existent space above the ceiling for
electrical access, we added a tongue-and-
groove ceiling with a little extra space above.
Hidden angled outlets were installed under the
upper cabinets so the beautiful marble
backsplash was uninterrupted. For the flooring,
we incorporated new planks with the old and
replaced a lot of the existing flooring to
seamlessly blend it all together
Special features included an oversized island
with book-matched polished dolomite slabs
mitered to 2", custom marble sill that runs into
the window and across the kitchen adding a
striking yet easy-to-clean feature, and panel-
ready appliances including the refrigerator/
freezer, two-drawer dishwasher, and ice maker.
