MAY 2025 RETAILOBSERVER.COM 17 THIRD PLACE / SECONDARY BATH Sharing is Caring — This unique bathroom was designed for double duty being shared between a teenage brother and sister. To make it functional for both getting ready for school, we created private shower stalls for each, a stall for the toilet, a large vanity and separate hair and make up station. Client Needs: • Bathroom suitable for two teens to share. • Private space for each teen, while still allowing general access. Ample storage for toiletries. • Storage for pool towels as this bathroom doubles as the pool bath. • Space for a cat litter box. Design Solutions: • The first thing we did was create individual shower stalls, one for each teen. They are completely private with obscured glass doors with room for soap and shampoo, and towel hooks outside the doors. Next to the showers, with the same door style, is a private WC. • Extra-large vanity with two sinks and a separate hair/make up station. Double-sided towel storage with access from the hall and the bathroom. • Cat litter box storage in a niche just outside the bathroom door. Special Features: • Black and white striped hex tile floor – this is carried out into the corridor outside the bathroom as well. • Sliding barn door to close off the room without the option for locking. • Personal shower stalls provide privacy and eliminate the need to schedule showering.
