Tigers in the Community 24
Coach Larry Porter is a firm believer in building his players into men, and one of his goals is for the Tigers to be active in the community throughout their careers in the Blue and Gray. Not only is Porter active on the speaking circuit around town, but he also developed Tiger Pride Day, which had more than 90 members of the team involved in community service events in several different areas around town. Some of the projects included cleanup efforts at local church athletic facilities as well as gardening and moving furniture at a local school.
St. Jude Visit Toys for Tots
"We ask a lot of this community in their support of our football program. This is one of our opportunities to give back and serve the community. At the end of the day, as we are developing these young men into men, they need to know how to serve the community and how to serve people."
