Modular tablet press Aquarius G-J rotary tablet press uses interchangeable modules to produce single- layer and dry-coated tablets (tablets-in-tablets). Swapping modules or turrets takes less than 20 minutes. Interchangeable turret lets you use B and D tooling on the same press. For tablet-in-tablet manufacture, a hopper feeds cores to a disc, which places them into dies. A second hopper feeds ma terial around the cores, and press com presses both. Press detects and rejects tablets without cores. Manual adjust ment ensures cores are centered; auto matic centering is optional. Other fea tures include touch-screen control and a data acquisition system. Maximum pre-compression and main compression forces are 100 kilonewtons. With 36 stations and TSM-B tooling, press produces as many as 259,200 tablets per hour. With 45 stations and TSM-BB tooling, press produces as many as 324,000 tablets per hour. It also re-establishes punch-tip land, which cannot be done with drag finisher. CE-compliant unit includes all supplies needed to quickly and accurately rework and polish variety of tooling. Company recommends regular polishing to prevent premature wear and damage to punches and dies used with abrasive formulations common to nutritional products. Polishing can also resolve sticking, picking, capping, and lamination. Natoli Engineering, St. Charles, MO. Its four compression rollers can be configured to operate with two inter - mediate pressures. Pneumatically con - trolled tablet scrapers apply con stant surface pressure, minimizing pro duct loss. Conical filling units allow safe, easy processing of complex mix tures. Separate lubrication of punch head and punch shaft coupled with closed cam- track assembly reduce contamination. Tubeless extraction unit with fixed- position connection speeds installation during changeover and cleaning. Turret changeover is auto mated and requires no tools. Two-part frame and pneu - matic suspension dam pen vibration. Fette Compacting America, Rockaway, NJ. Optional controlled-humidity enclosure lets you study how humidity affects compaction behavior. Press is also available with SafeTab HEPA-filtered containment system. Press facilitates QbD approach in pre-formulation, formulation, process optimization, pre-production, and QC applications. Gamlen Tableting, Nottingham, UK. Tel. +44 115 912 4271 www.gamlen.co.uk
