Strategic Outsourcing
The overall effectiveness of outsourcing was evaluated in several categories by a survey conducted by HfS Research and the London School of Economics. As a cost reducer, outsourcing is deemed very successful by 95 per cent of all respondents. However, the results around the rest of the outsourcing initiatives are a bit mediocre, says Fersht. Providers need to improve in three areas: technology growth, achieving new business value, and gaining access to new business acumen. This is where the rubber meets the road: If new efficiencies aren't found within outsourcing, Fersht says, HR business leaders will be put in the position to reevaluate its value.
