A fast-growing privately held company continues to flourish in spite of a declining independent dealer base and a slowdown in the copying and printing markets. Three former colleagues, Neal Becker, Jane O'Brien and Joe Steinberg founded Q2, LLC in February 2008 in Burnsville, Minn. They felt there was a need for a new company, with hands- on ownership and industry experi- ence that would provide high lev- els of service, quality products and excellent pricing.
Becker said Q2 got its name after O'Brien, Steinberg and him- self worked together during a very successful time at their previous company and decided they want- ed a name that would help differ- entiate their company from others in the business. "We also wanted a name that
was easy to remember and easy to say," Becker said. Q2 is a growing independent
provider of copier and printer sup- plies and parts who serves both copier and printer dealers as well as service agen- cies across the United States. One of the many products Q2 offers is SleeveTec, a robust, non-porous fuser roller coating technology that is used on a select num- ber of Canon, Konica Minolta, Ricoh and Panasonic upper fuser rollers. In 2010, as Q2 continued to grow and add more products, it found it neces-
sary to move into a larger facility within Burnsville. "Our customer base and revenue have grown nicely," Becker said. Q2 prides itself on being a growing company in a difficult market as they con-
tinue to expand their supplier base and pursue new product opportunities for their customers. On an average, they are adding one new product everyday. Some of these product categories include cleaning blades, drums/photorecep- tors, drum unit cartridges, monochrome and color toners, fuser rollers and more. Becker said that one of Q2's goals is to be recognized as a highly reliable and
dependable partner who works closely with its customers to respond to their needs while providing them with the best quality, service and price possible.
