56 Day 1 Arrive New York Welcome to the USA! On arrival at New York Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. A stay in the bustling and iconic "Big Apple" is a must on any trip to the USA. Explore this exciting city which is a blend of sky scrapers, shops, bars, restaurants, boutiques and iconic and historic sights. Two Night Stay: New York Hilton Midtown Day 2 New York (FB,D) Begin a New York City tour at the 'Top of the Rock' which boasts amazing 360° views of the city. Pass St Patrick's Cathedral and Trump Tower before taking a walk in Central Park. Continue to the heart of the city, Times Square the home of Broadway. Enjoy an architectural journey passing the Chrysler Building, New York Public Library, Madison Square, the Flatiron Building and the Brooklyn Bridge, Federal Hall and the US Customs building before viewing the 9/11 memorial. Finish with a cruise to the iconic Statue of Liberty. Tonight join your Tour Director and fellow travellers for a welcome dinner. Day 3 New York – Boston (FB,D) Travel north through New York State and Connecticut known for their beautiful countryside. In the afternoon we are joined by a local guide for a walk along the Freedom Trail. Follow this journey through history which tells stories of the American Revolution which began in Boston. Visit the interesting sights of Boston Common, Faneuil Hall and the Old State House. Two Night Stay: Hilton Downtown Day 4 Boston (FB) Today is free for you to explore Boston. Discover More: Unique Boston Duck Tour, or a fun and informative Old Town Trolley tour and cruise (see pages 148-151) Day 5 Boston – New England – Montreal (FB) Travel through the states of Vermont and New Hampshire, passing through small villages and the picturesque White Mountains. Pass into Canada and the French-Canadian province of Quebec. We continue our journey to the quintessentially French city of Montreal. Montreal is a slice of old Europe mixed with contemporary design, where rich history and culture meet chic modernism. Two Night Stay: Marriott Chateau Champlain Day 6 Montreal Sightseeing (FB) Today enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city, viewing the Olympic Complex, Notre Dame Cathedral and views of the city skyline from the parklands of Mt Royale. This afternoon is at leisure to explore this historic and vibrant city. Day 7 Montreal – Quebec City HD (FB,HL,D) Continue along the picturesque St. Lawrence River and follow the scenic "Chemin du Roy" (King's Road), before arriving at a traditional Quebecois Sugar Shack. You're Invited: Enjoy French Canadian hospitality, learn how to make maple candy, then partake in a delicious French Canadian lunch. Continue to Quebec City where French is the primary language. Meet our local guide for a tour of The Plains of Abraham, the Citadel and Parliament buildings, and a walking tour within the walls of the Old City. Two Night Stay: Clarendon Hotel Day 8 Quebec City (FB) Spend the day exploring the quaint streets and ancient buildings. You're Invited: Travel to a First Nations camp on Victoria Island where you will savour a native feast accompanied by vibrant dancers and skilled musicians. Two Night Stay: The Westin Ottawa Day 10 Ottawa Sightseeing (FB) Our local guide joins us for a tour of Ottawa. See the green-peaked roofs of the Parliament Buildings, City Hall and the National Gallery. View the residences of the Prime Minister and the Governor General, the Royal Canadian Mint and the Rideau Canal. Explore Byward Market before continuing to the Museum of Civilization. Day 11 Ottawa – Toronto (FB) Leaving Ottawa we travel along the St. Lawrence River to Kingston, the gateway to the beautiful Thousand Islands region. Board your vessel for a cruise of one of the most picturesque areas in Eastern Canada. Continue along the shores of Lake Ontario to Toronto. Two Night Stay: Westin Harbour Castle Day 12 Toronto (FB,D) Journey to the top of CN Tower, the tallest free- standing tower in the Americas, for some spectacular views over Toronto. Travel up University Avenue to take in the sights of Ontario's Parliament Buildings, Queen's Park and museum row. Visit Canada's majestic castle, Casa Loma and step back in time to a period of European elegance and splendour. Arrive in Niagara for the 'Voyage to the Falls'. Enjoy an exciting cruise as you come within feet of the Horseshoe Falls and its misty spray. Enjoy lunch and a wine tasting at a local Restaurant. Day 15 Windsor – Detroit (FB,L,D) On our way from Lake Erie to Lake Huron, we will stop in Windsor, the city of Roses. The Ford Motor Company established itself in this city prior to its expansion into Detroit. Visit the Henry Ford Museum whose highlights include the car which carried JFK on the fateful day in Texas, and the chair which Abraham Lincoln was sitting when shot. Day 16 Sailing Lake Huron (FB,L,D) Enjoy a day of scenic cruising on Lake Huron, the second largest of the Great Lakes with over 30,000 islands.
