Since AQ360 is written in Microsoft Silverlight 4, the underlying issue is "does your tablet support Silverlight 4?" While there are many different tablets out there, for the purposes of this dicussion, we'll group them by their operating systems (i.e., Windows, Andriod, WebOs, and the iPad). First and foremost, for anyone running a Windows tablet, there's built in Silverlight support, meaning you can run AQ 360 on your tablet right now. I, myself, have an HP Slate 500 tablet and it runs AQ360 beauti- fully. For those of you with an iPad or a tablet running WebOs, they do not support Silverlight at all, which means you cannot run AQ360 natively on your tablet at this time. Thankfully, there are several apps avail- able that will allow you to connect to your PC from your tablet and run AQ360 remotely on your PC from your tablet. Two of the apps that I've personally tried that work well are Splashtop (thanks Joe Ferri) and iTap RDP (thanks Joel Green). As long as you have a decent Internet connec- tion on your tablet, remotely running AQ360 on your PC is just as fast as if you were running it on your tablet. A special note for the Andriod tablet users: While Moonlight allows you to run Silverlight 3 on the Android platform, it doesn't fully support Silverlight 4 at this time (see article here: http://www.infoq.com/news/2011/04/Silverlight-Android). However, once it does, you should be able to run AQ360 on your Andriod tablet at that time. In the interim, Splashtop and iTap RDP can be used on Android Tablets. A Few More Apps to Consider "One of the best apps I have on my iPad is Logmein.com, which allows me to log into my work or home desktop from the iPad," says FEDA President Jim Hanson. "I can even work AutoQuotes through this app if I want to. It isn't real easy doing it, but for a simple quote or to just look up a quote that I have in my AQ and I can print and send it to myself or to a client if I want to. Of course there are all my favorite websites that have apps, like Southwest airlines or the Priceline negotiation app for getting hotels at a discount. There is the "flashlight" app that turns my phone into an emer- gency handy flashlight, the Telenav for when I don't have my Garmin handy and Mobile Hotspot for when I am out and need to connect my laptop to the net, without paying for it separately in the hotels." to nearly 200 manufacturers and thou- sands of models. It's a great tool that allows the road salesman to pull many cut sheets up quickly right in front of their clients. KCL Mobile allows search by manufacturer, model or category. Users can also create lists of preferred manufacturers, and connect with just one click to manufacturer websites. Browse for apps, advises E&A Restaurant Supply's Joel Green. "I visit the Android Market regularly to browse for new applications. Let the technolo- gy make your job easier."u
