The expansion of the program will allow gun-owners and collectors to benefit from the excellent prices generated by gunbroker.com while supporting the trust's efforts to protect America's hunting and shooting- sports heritage. Launched in 2007 the Treasures & Traditions program has auctioned more than 3,000 firearms and related sporting items through the popular site. "The auction of donated items is a proven fund-raising activity for organizations such as the Hunting Heritage Trust, but it obviously has its limitations," says Bob Delfay, president of the Hunting Heritage Trust. Another benefit is that a portion of the sale price of each gun will support the country's hunting and shooting- sports heritage. Also, the involvement of trusted firearms experts who advise and assist the Hunting Heritage Trust with the program means consignors will get a good price. For example, Steve Fjestad, author of the highly regarded Blue Book of Gun Values, is among the advisors. "Commissions will range between 20 and 25 percent, depending on the number and value of consigned items, the extent This Winchester Model 12 is typical of the firearms consigned to the Hunting Heritage Trust's Treasures & Traditions auction through www.gunbroker.com.
