DERRICK ROSE 2009 NBA ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
How does a college basketball program make NBA history? By producing back-to-back NBA Rookies of the Year in 2009 and 2010. The Tigers are only the second program in NBA history and the first since the late 1970s to have consecutive winners of the league´s Rookie of the Year award. Derrick Rose took the hardware home in 2009, while Tyreke Evans earned the honor in 2010. Memphis joins North Carolina as the only two college basketball programs to produce back-to-back NBA Rookie of the Year recipients.
