S CMCS Highlights CMCS and Habitat for Humanity ince the creation of the CMCS Volunteer Commit- tee in 2009, there has always been an interest in participating in Habitat for Humanity. On May 5th, 2012, with the guidance of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapo- lis, CMCS completed a Panel Build in the parking lot of our building at 9045 River Road. Habitat is a faith-based organiza- tion whose mission is to engage the community by presenting an op- portunity to help a deserving family build a home, regardless of their be- liefs in a specific creed or doctrine. A Panel Build allows the opportunity for a group of people to construct all wall panels necessary to build a home in one day. The Panel Build project is an ex- cellent team-building activity since it allows people to work together by offering a variety of tasks, from regis- tering volunteers to building and dis- assembling panels. All team members work toward one common goal: mak- ing a difference in someone else's life! The community of volunteer builders included CMCS employees, their friends, families and even customers who participated in this exciting ad- venture. The walls were left in place in the parking lot for a few days be- fore disassembly and removal. When it was time to finish building the home, Habitat for Humanity of Greater In- dianapolis relocated the home to its permanent address. This Habitat for Humanity project moved the CMCS Volunteer Com- mittee to a new level. The Panel Build brought people together, including family and friends, who enjoyed a day of working with their hands. The Vol- unteer Committee was pleased with the turnout for this Panel Build proj- ect and we would like to thank Tom Klages, the management team, and all of CMCS associates, for making this possible. A dream realized for one de- serving family through the efforts of a community of caring volunteers. The Volunteer Committee's mis- sion statement is: "To The WORLD we are one person... But to ONE person we are the WORLD." Once a member is en- rolled in the RCP, a nurse care man- ager at CMCS provides care coor- dination and member education to steer the member toward appropri- ate use of their pharmacy and medi- cal care benefits. Jacob Huseman, a nurse care manager at CMCS, helps manage RCP program members. His most recent encounter was with a man who is on the HIP program who did not understand why he was being re- stricted to his primary care provider and one pharmacy. This member, whom we will refer to as Sam, suffers from chronic knee pain. Sam has had multiple surgeries and liter- ally every step he takes causes pain.
