Myers, FL George C. Yound Federal Building and Courthouse, Orlando, FL continued meet or exceed the Miami-Dade building codes. In this application, KEVLAR provides superior impact resist- ance, similar to the way it works as a protective barrier around jet turbine blades and luggage containers for aircraft to help shield passengers from flying debris should an explosion occur. Reynobond with KEVLAR provides added value for architects, building owners and general contractors because they don't have to modify their architectural aesthetic. It can be rolled, routed, drilled and fabricated to meet the most complex design specifications such as angles and curves while offering the flat, smooth and consistent surface of aluminum composite material. Although fabricators have found Reynobond with KEVLAR slightly more difficult to fabricate due to the KEVLAR material, the initial costs for material and installation are in line with those of traditional materials. However, the lifetime maintenance costs are reduced because no repainting is required.
