Workforce Leadership Seeking Unification Savvy organisations are aligning multiple processes under the talent umbrella. By Russ Banham Talent management practices have evolved strikingly across the world in just a few years. Many organisations have introduced robust leadership development programmes, external recruitment campaigns, and high-profile internal succession processes, while investing in global mobility platforms for learning. Yet a significant goal remains: joining up all of these processes across the enterprise. Importantly, much remarkable progress already has been made, most of it during the global recession. And that is something to celebrate. Best practices are emerging that separate world-class processes from those that are merely good enough; even better— these practices are tending to flow across all industries. That said, since talent challenges vary by industry sector and individual company, a key objective remains for these organisations to shape their processes for specific circumstances.
