A Walk Down Main Street
The Story Behind Globe Equipment Company's Showroom Revamp
To truly appreciate Globe Equipment Company's new show-
room, you have to understand the history behind it. Up until it
was gutted in the winter of 2014, the 10,000-square-foot space
was a catchall for used equipment and an occasional parking
lot for the Bridgeport, Conn.-based, dealership's trucks. "It was
an eyesore," says President Jay Ringelheim. "There was nothing
attractive about it. It was 10,000 square feet of wasted space."
Ask anyone who attended the dealership's week-long grand
reopening celebration, and they will tell you that's no longer
the case. Refl ective of Globe's commitment to the market it's
served for more than 80 years, the new showroom is bright
and airy and mimics a massive runway anchored by rows of
refrigeration. Apparently it's been tough to keep in stock since
the reveal this past June. (One more interesting tidbit: During
the week of the grand reopening event, ticket sales doubled.)
Can you say "success."
