4 Dear Friend of Kirby Medical Center and The Kirby Foundation, 2016 was a memorable year for Kirby Medical Center and The Kirby Foundation. We celebrated our 75th Anniversar y with a community party on campus under a glorious September sky with friends and organizations that helped ever yone take a "step back in time." At the same time, I feel we have really honored the Kirby family with not only the growth in ser vices that we have added, but also the excellent quality we deliver with those ser vices. Our Surger y Department has again won the Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award® for sustained patient satisfaction, and all of our ser vices routinely score in the top 5-10% of hospitals nationwide. I was even more humbled this year with our Employee Engagement sur vey that measures the satisfaction of our team members here at Kirby. We had 97% of our employees take the sur vey and they rank us in the top 6% of hospitals in the nation! Several projects star ted in 2016 have come to fruition – our Kirby Medical Group at Cerro Gordo clinic opened on December 19, CrossFit KMC and our GetFit programs opened in June, and our first nuclear medicine patient was seen at the end of the year. What is planned for 2017? A lot! We are evaluating how to not only sustain the ser vices we have added, but how to grow them. Advanced or thopedic joint surgeries are planned for the coming year, as well as tentative ideas on expanding our building footprint to accommodate that growth, along with fur ther growth we have planned at Kirby Medical Group with Dr. Evelyn Huang joining the KMG provider team in September 2017.
