Between emergencies, both docs share a charming and informative bedside manner. New Docs Bring High Skills for High Risk Babies & Moms D r. James Meserow and Dr. Jayson Lingan do delicate dances to save lives. Meserow, a Maternal Fetal Med- icine specialist, and Lingan, a neonatologist at Benefis' Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, choreograph actions with Benefis' exceptionally skilled team. When it comes to high-risk moms and babies, everyone knows when and where to move. Dr. James Meserow has 35 years experience teaching and practicing medicine. He's anxious to move from Chicago to Montana, marry his childhood sweetheart, and visit "the mermaid bar" he's heard so much about. Meserow, a rock-and-roll musician, is looking for jamming partners—and a sweet spot on the Smith to take his 23-year-old son, an avid fly-fisherman. Dr. Jayson Lingan, a native of the Philippines, is fresh out of a fellowship in Rochester, New York. Lingan is impressed by Great Falls' River's Edge Trail and Giant Springs State Park, and our many microbreweries. The bright-faced, bespectacled bachelor teases, "I'm single…and available." When asked if he was a good cook, Lingan admitted, "Only if I'm standing in front of a microwave oven." Montana's rugged beauty and extreme weather offer a challenge for patients and the medical team. Both new docs are impressed with Benefis' flight crews, dedicated staff and outreach programs, both in person and online. Why Benefis? Dr. Lingan put it best: "It gives us the most oppor- tunities to make the biggest difference for babies and moms."
