artists another opportunity to show
their work. The Cat/Griz theme is
pretty important to Montanans,
so we're having a friendly rivalry
art exhibit!"
Saturday night is WHA's annual
Art Competing for Causes auction. In
addition to a silent auction, watch 20
brave artists literally walk on water-
their stage is the covered pool- and
attempt to either complete a work
in progress (quick finish) or start and
complete an entire piece (quick
draw) in 45 minutes! All pieces from
the quick finish as well as 25 more
pieces of art are then auctioned off
benefiting these three causes: Breast
Cancer Awareness, North Middle
School's Griz Biz Kids program which
helps students learn how to run a
business, and Hobson, Montana's
Business Professionals of America.
"Why Hobson?" Good says, "Because
Charlie Russell first got his start in
Judith Basin County before coming to
Great Falls."
Over the years, the western art
world has evolved. Good says,
"People are more open to different
styles, colors, and mediums. There's
a more modern take on it now. I
think it's a good reflection of younger
people that are growing up now.
The world changes and art changes
with it!"
Your trail ends here. It's time
to investigate.
