This year's two-day auction will include over 700 separate items – everything from bronzes to oil paintings, to antique rifles to Navajo weavings. Buyers from around the west and across North America will be focusing their attention on the Elks Lodge in Great Falls, hoping to cast the winning bid on a unique piece of western art that's difficult to get at a regional gallery. The three day boutique dealer show and two day auction is being held in conjunction with a number of other events during "Russell Week" in Great Falls, MT. All events are free and open to the public and will take place at the Elks Lodge #24, located at 500 1st Avenue South in Great Falls. Known for its record setting auctions, the 2018 March In Montana Fine Art and Collectibles Auction, featuring some of the finest Western, sporting and wildlife art on the market today, will not disappoint! Last year was the first year at its new location after spending the previous three decades at The Townhouse Inn. When that venue was sold and demolished in 2016, Char Nelson, who coordinates the show with her husband, Bob Nelson, says, "This venue (Elks Lodge) is actually more user-friendly, both to us and to our clients." A full-day preview happens Thursday and Friday; Saturday morning the preview continues until noon. Live auctions are at Noon Friday and Saturday. A Boutique Dealer Show runs in conjunction with the preview and auction sessions Thursday through Saturday. Over the past three decades, March in Montana has built its reputation upon an eclectic mix of fine art and western-themed decoration. The show draws bidders with a wide range of tastes and financial sensibilities. "Our sale varies greatly from year to year, but this year's sale is loaded with exceptional pieces and not only in the realms of art and sculpture, but in the collectibles arena- both Cowboy and Indian", says Char. Successful bidders don't necessarily need to be ready to write a check with four or more zeros. Many items sell for less than $1000.
