Do you still
follow racing today?
These days I don't really go to the track. I
go more to the fair races. Sometimes, see-
ing gamblers lose or horses get hurt would
get me down, so I took a break. I love hand-
icapping and I love going to the races, but
I guess I'm too thin-skinned. Anyway, that's
just me. I'm not seeking to make a commen-
tary on the sport in general. It's just what
you can or can't handle. It's a real shame,
as betting horses was my old man plan. If I
just went out to bet horses then I'd never
be alone 'cause I'd be with the handicappers
and get to see horses every day.
Now I actually just prefer watching horses
work out in the morning. If I could, I would
spend every morning watching horses while
I'm eating my breakfast, whether they're
worth $500,000 or $500. Running is what
these animals are bred to do and without
gambling or worrying so much about acci-
dents, there's no stress. I said I'm a roman-
tic and watching horses work is filled with
romance.
