news + notes from the state of hockey tagline goes here March Madness: Upcoming Events Minnesota Leading Source of Division II and III goaltenders The State of Hockey leads the way with 31 out of 148 goaltenders playing Division-II or Division-III women's hockey, the most out of all states in the U.S. There are 29 out of 260 men goaltenders from Minnesota, secondmost out of all U.S. states. March 6-9: MSHSL boys' state tournament at Xcel Energy Center The top source of NCAA Division II-III goalies is Minnesota, providing 60 of the 408 goalies. Among them is Wisconsin-River Falls freshman Gillian McDonald of New Brighton, Minn. Women's Frozen Four at Ridder The NCAA Women's Frozen Four is coming to Ridder Arena on March 22 and 24. The 2013 Junior A Combine is coming back to the Schwan's Super Rink May 16-19. The Combine includes on- and off-ice testing/ reports, along with three-to-five games for all players.
