Better thinkers; Better futures The American University in Cairo anticipates creating a new stand-alone School of Business based on its existing AACSB accredited Management Department. That department, which includes Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Management and Marketing, offers BAs in Accounting and Business Administration, a Masters in Business Administration (MBA), and Executive programs thru its Management Center and International Executive Education Institute. The School will also house El Khazendar Business Research and Case Center, which is designed to be the leading case development center in the M.E., and the Citadel Capital Financial Services Center, which is the first regional center to offer students, researchers and professionals an exciting, instructional facility including online stock market trading simulation and various financial databases and software programs. Job Description We are searching for a dean with vision, imagination, and energy, possessing strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, knowledgeable about and interested in developments in business and business education in the Middle East and globally. Interest in and enthusiasm for academic institution-building is essential, and the University anticipates a period of active growth for the School of Business. As the School's chief academic and administrative officer, the dean should be a practiced and collaborative manager, working closely with other senior administrative officers to enhance programs both with the School and across the University. Responsibilities include coordinating, evaluating and improving curricula and programs, recruiting new faculty, and promoting excellence in instruction and research; determining resource priorities and preparing the school's budget; and representing the school and its faculty to other divisions of the university and to external publics. Requirements The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in a discipline related to Business or, in exceptional cases, an MBA combined with executive experience in business and at least ten years of experience in an academic Business School. Candidates must be enthusiastic about the prospect of living and working in Egypt. Salary and benefits are competitive, based on qualifications and professional experience.
