The con- ference will open with a presentation by keynote speaker Jack Andraka. At only age 15, he invented an inexpensive early detection test for pancreatic, ovarian and lung cancers. Still a teenager now, Andraka's groundbreaking results have earned him international recognition, most notably a 2014 Jefferson Award, the United States' most prestigious public service award. Following the opening session, an evening reception will be held on the exhibition floor. Scientific program The annual meeting will include an extensive range of scientific presenta- tions in diverse formats including work- shops, short courses, sunrise sessions and symposia. Presentations related to inhalation will include: • A Sunday full-day short course: Characterization methods for aggre- gates and particles in peptide and small protein formulations • A Tuesday morning sunrise session: Can you print your product? Recent advances in 3-dimensional printing for pharmaceutical applications • A Tuesday afternoon symposium: Challenges and future prospects of alternative delivery of biologics • A Wednesday afternoon symposium: T h i n k i n g b e y o n d t h e t a b l e t — Enhancing drug delivery capabilities from discovery to development to support modality agnostic pipelines • A Thursday morning sunrise session: Nuts and bolts of systemic bioavail- ability trial design for local delivery and what do you do with the data? This session will include: Bioavail- ability trial design for products deliv- ered via the inhalation route. • A Thursday morning symposium: The best of the rest—Drug transport across non-traditional biological bar- r i e r s . T h i s s e s s i o n w i l l i n c l u d e : Inhalation biopharmaceutics—Do transporters matter in the lung?
