The Dean holds primary responsibility for the Division of Business and Accountancy and reports directly to the Vice President for Academic Affairs. The Division offers undergraduate degree programs in business administration and accounting and a graduate degree program in accounting. The Division of Business and Accountancy consists of 27 faculty and three staff serving approximately 1,000 students. Division facilities include state-of-the-art technology- equipped classrooms. Responsibilities: The Dean of Business and Accountancy provides leadership for all aspects of the Division operations including administration of the University's AACSB International Accreditation, curriculum, personnel, resource management, and assessment, and works with other campus leaders in supporting the University's public liberal arts and sciences mission. S/he will work closely with the Office of Admission in the recruitment and retention of students and the Office of Advancement in the areas of external relationships and fundraising. The salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Required Qualifications: • Candidates must meet AACSB standards of being either academically or professionally qualified • Record of recognized scholarship and effective teaching or managerial success in corporate settings • Record of increasing responsibility and leadership in higher education • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively to build consensus and sustain a strong and collegial relationship with faculty, staff, students, and administrators • Knowledge of and experience with AACSB International accreditation • Demonstrated ability to build external relationships leading to fundraising and external support for programs Preferred Qualifications: • Earned doctorate or terminal degree appropriate to the Division programs • Experience with curriculum development, personnel hiring, and evaluation and resource management • Demonstrated commitment to diversity Truman State University is a vibrant community of teacher-scholars committed to active learning that emphasizes frequent faculty/student interaction with strong support for faculty scholarship emphasizing undergraduate research. SCHOOL OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION Widener University seeks a Dean of the School of Business Administration to assume office by July 1, 2005. Widener is a dynamic metropolitan university that recently adopted a compre- hensive strategic plan developed by the faculty and administration. The University is composed of eight schools and colleges that offer liberal arts, sciences, professional and pre-professional curricula leading to associate's, baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral degrees. The University's campuses in Chester, Exton and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and Wilmington, Delaware, serve some 6,700 students. The School of Business Administration is accredited by AACSB, and has been recently named a Business Process Innovation Center of Excellence by SAP AG and IDS Scheer, Inc.—a distinction held by seven universities worldwide. The fac- ulty and staff are dedicated to providing quality education to 523 undergraduates in Accounting, Economics, International Business and Management programs; and 240 graduate students in Accounting, Human Resources Management, Health and Medical Services Administration, Information Systems, Taxation and MBA programs. There also are several joint degree programs offered with other schools in the university. The School of Business is housed in the new Leslie C. Quick, Jr. Center, a state- of-the-art facility named in honor of a distinguished alumnus. The Dean is a member of the university's senior leadership team and reports directly to the Provost and Senior Vice President. The Search Committee seeks an outstanding leader who pos- sesses the credentials for tenure at the senior professor level in the School of Business; has a thorough understanding of AACSB standards; has the communication skills to represent the school effectively to the business community and other significant con- stituencies; is able to lead the faculty in the development of attrac- tive, innovative programs; can develop a strong sense of commu- nity and common purpose in the school of business; is an advo- cate for faculty development; is committed to working collabora- tively with other deans to develop cross-disciplinary programs; has a strong commitment to Widener's mission, vision and strate- gic plan; brings the ability to participate actively in fundraising efforts; and has demonstrated managerial and fiscal skills.
