Portfolio Review Wednesday, May 23 4:30-6:30 PM Kierland Grand 1A Sponsored by Facèré Jewelry Art Gallery Portfolio Reviewers are for emerging artists and graduating students. Gallery representatives, curators, and other professionals in the metals field will be available to review portfolios and provide professional advice and guidance. The goal is to create an opportunity for emerging artists to hear from seasoned artists and art professionals that can help them in their development and advancement of their artistic careers. All participants must sign up for a review. Artists who have not pre-registered by email can register for any remaining slots at the conference during the Portfolio Review on-site sign-up on Wednesday, May 23rd from 4:00 – 4:30 outside the review room at the Culturekeepers Hall Registration desk. Portfolio Reviewers (at time of printing): • Victoria Altepeter currently teaches jewelry and metals at Northern Arizona University. • Allison Barnett is co-owner of Patina Gallery in Santa Fe, NM, is a jewelry artist, and is an authority on artist jewelry. • Ivan Barnett is co-owner and gallery director of Patina Gallery in Santa Fe, NM. • Kristin Beeler is Professor of Art and program head of the Jewelry and Metalsmithing area at Long Beach City College in the Los Angeles area. • Kathleen Browne is a Professor and head of the Jewelry/ Metals/Enameling department at Kent State University. • Jim Cohen is primarily a hollowware artist with an emphasis on Judaica. His jewelry are primarily fibulas. Jim is a four time Niche finalist and one time winner. • Andy Cooperman is a jeweler, metalsmith, writer, teacher, and conducts workshops and seminars across the country. He previously taught metals at the University of Washington. • Kim Cridler is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Art at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. • Teresa Faris is an Assistant Professor and directs the Metals program at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. • Donald Friedlich is a jeweler and studio artist working primarily in glass and gold. He served as President of SNAG and Chair of the Editorial Advisory Committee of Metalsmith magazine. 40
