Her work explores issues surrounding our relationship with everyday objects, as catalysts for stimulating memory and informing identity. Her work has been featured in over a dozen publications, such as 21st Century Jewelry: The Best of the 500 Series, 1000 Rings: Inspiring Adornment for the Hand, 500 Metal Vessels, as well as Metalsmith Magazine and American Craft Magazine. BOARD Nominees (CHOOSE TWO) Marthe Le Van Marthe is passionate about discovering, developing, and promoting good jewelry. Her mother is a watercolorist and her father is a lawyer. This genetic mashup makes her uniquely equipped to serve the business needs of creative professionals. Marthe launched two new businesses this year: a shop for Joanna Gollberg Jewelry and a company offering custom freelance services for jewelers, publishers, and arts organizations. As senior editor for Lark Books, she guided more than 60 jewelry books from concept to market, including all books in the "500" series. She founded Lark Jewelry, a division of Lark Books, and built it into widely respected and profitable book brand. Marthe is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College, with a B.A. in arts administration and art history. She was creative director at Blue Spiral 1 and curator for Harvey Littleton Studios. Marthe lives in Asheville, North Carolina with her husband Rick Morris. Brigitte Martin Brigitte is a native of Germany, where she apprenticed with a Master Goldsmith after working for Sotheby's and an international contemporary fine art gallery. She came to the US in 1995 and since opened her jewelry studio in Pittsburgh, PA. In May 2008, Martin created the popular online social networking site crafthaus for which she acts as Chief Editor. Martin's work has been exhibited at the Museum of Art in Cleveland, and in galleries across the US. In addition to her daily crafthaus duties, Martin curates various exhibitions and juries craft artwork for public sale events. Martin is a proud member of SNAG's Professional Development Seminar and was part of the organizing committee that gave SNAG its first ever Trunk Show in 2011. Martin's first book, Humor in Craft, is due on the market in March 2012. Voting ends at 12:30 PM on Saturday. Results will be announced at 3:30 Saturday during the Membership Meeting. 30
