Quick drawing and mark-making approaches, as well as fuel choices, with torch-firing will also be addressed. Friday, May 25, 3:30 – 4:00pm Kierland Grand 1 Patina on Copper and Copper Alloys: On behalf of Reactive Metals Studio, Phillip Baldwin will discuss the different types of patinas on copper including a chemistry demonstration of cleaning surface preparation application and post patina finishes. Saturday, May 26, 1:15 – 1:45pm Kierland Grand 1 Recycling and Refining of Precious Metals: What, Why, and How to Get Started: Dan Kapler of the David H. Fell & Company, Inc. and Mel Bohler of The Coin Gallery discuss how to collect, sort, inventory, and ship jewelers' precious metal scrap for refining in order to achieve the best possible return (check, metal for metal, or other settlement) and maximize your business assets.
