Sometimes To Be Unique

I
have always been a car
guy for as long as I can
remember. Whatever car
I drove had to be unique. It
had to stand out. My mobile
had to be a little flashy, kind
of fast, sometimes loud, but
always unique.
An interesting thing hap-
pened back in 1997. I was
gifted a 57 T-Bird from my
mother-in-law. That's when
a light bulb lit for me. I can
have two unique cars! And,
that started my addiction to
"the other car". You know,

wheel mistress out in the ga-
rage, only there for the pure
pleasure of driving.

folks, aka the club…
I joined both the regional
and national Thunderbird
club to enhance the owner-
ship experience. After sell-
ing the Bird and buying a
GTO, I did the same thing.

both experiences left me
feeling merely like a number
that paid yearly dues.
I quickly learned the car
club experience is in part de-
pendent on the local repre-
sentation, and on what those
members put into the club.
I'm proud to say, I have been
amazed at how welcoming
the KCRPCA has been!
I joined the PCA in early
2014. I had purchased a 08
Cayman S and as soon as I
had a VIN number I signed
up. I had read about PCA,
but I had no idea what the
