POWDER COATING, August 2017 23 Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wis., and a doctorate in chemistry and chemical engineering from Michigan Technological University, Houghton, Mich. He has also done postdoctoral work in macromolecular science at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland. Urban has written more than 300 research papers, several patents, and three books, and has edited nine books. He has won numerous awards, including the Technical Focus Speaker and Roon Foun- dation Awards (1999) from the Federation of Societies for Coatings Technologies (FSCT), and an outstanding research fac- ulty award from USM. His research on self- healing coatings has been featured by nu- merous media including the New York Times, Forbes magazine, BBC, NBC, Dis- covery Channel, USA Today, Yahoo, and many other TV and radio stations around the world. Current research interests in- clude self-healing polymers and coatings, understanding physico-chemical processes governing coatings responsiveness, the devel- opment of heterogeneous stimuli-responsive polymeric coatings, and molecular level processes that govern self-repaired coatings. Ying Yang is a postdoc- toral research associate in Prof. Marek W. Urban's group at Clemson Uni- versity. She joined the Urban Research Group in 2011 and received a Ph.D. degree in Materials Science and Engineering in 2016. She is a co-author of several high im- pact publications and patents, and her re- search focuses on the design and develop- ment of advanced stimuli-responsive poly- mers and coatings, including self-healing and shape memory polymers, and multi- phase composite systems. SHOW PREVIEW CMTS offers the cutting edge Alicia Tyznik Editor E xplore leading technologies and meet manufacturing experts at the Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show (CMTS) this Fall. CMTS 2017 will be held September 25-28 at the International Centre in Mississauga (Toronto), Ontario. Visit the show to see more than 3,000,000 pounds of manufacturing equipment in action and to connect with more than 700 suppliers of technologies and solutions under one roof. CMTS features the latest in machine tools, tooling, forming, and fabricating technologies along with the cutting-edge innovations in advanced manufacturing, including additive manufacturing/3D printing, automation and robotics, and design engineering. CMTS provides at- tendees from all walks of manufacturing an experience they never forget and often repeat: A hands-on, flexible, learning en- vironment of revolutionary technologies. Don't miss the equipment demos, ask- the-expert sessions, lunch and learns, and the variety of in-booth, hands-on learn- ing on the show floor. Show information Location.
