Hilton Head Area Association of Realtors ® Outdoor Living Who doesn't love to enjoy the great outdoors? It is one of the features that attract people to the Lowcountry. I remember when I first moved to Hilton Head Island I noticed during the summer months the daylight hours were shorter than where I came from up north. I quickly learned to appreciate the differences and took advantage of the evenings outside with candles and fun lighting. When my husband and I redid our outdoor patio a few years back we added a gas firepit. Best addition we ever did! We spend many evenings all year enjoying the peacefulness a firepit brings to your home. Homeowners considering taking on a renovation project may want to look outside to get the most bang for their buck. A study from the National Association of REALTORS® and the National Association of Landscape Professionals found that outdoor remodeling projects bring great value – both emotionally and financially – to the homeowners and commercial property owners who complete them. The study found that the most cost-effective project was implementing standard lawn care, which recoups 267 percent of the project cost at resale. The report goes on to say curb appeal plays a significant role in tackling any outdoor project. Among REALTORS, 94 percent have suggested sellers improve their curb appeal before listing a home for sale. Use the advice of a professional Realtor when selling your home. Not only do they have access to the latest sales data, but their experience and knowledge will guide you to get the best price for your home.
