GLOBAL q Page 12 Attendees gathered for the 2018 BICSI CALA District Puerto Rico Conference & Exhibition on November 1 at the Colegio de Ingenieros y Agrimensores de Puerto Rico (CIAPR) in San Juan. Reaction was extremely positive. Delegates commented on the quality of presentations and sponsors were pleased with the leads they gained. BICSI Global Region Director Honorico "Rick" Ciordia, RCDD, DCDC, RTPM, CT, PE, opened the conference. Eight technical presentations took place throughout the day, and nearly 20 sponsors lined the exhibit floor. In addition, all sponsors were invited to give two-minute "What's New, What's It Do?" presentations. Special recognition was given to Professor Luis Canuelas from Miguel Such Vocational High School in San Juan. Professor Canuelas has brought many students to the BICSI Puerto Rico Conference over the years and has played a vital role in educating the next generation of ICT professionals in the area. Professor Canuelas was presented with an award for his efforts. The event concluded with a raffle drawing and a networking session. BICSI is already planning the next Puerto Rico Conference, slated for November 7, 2019.
