BICSI Travels the World With More Than 20 Global Events Global development swelled as the BICSI name spread to countries and cities worldwide, many for the first time. BICSI France Day premiered in April and generated so much interest in our organization that a second BICSI France Day was held in October. Another first took place in Cairo, Egypt during the Intelligent Cities Exhibition & Conference in late October. Here BICSI Middle East & Africa (MEA), a Technology Partner for the event, had a booth in their Exhibit Hall which initiated a great deal of enthusiasm for BICSI. Conference attendee numbers also grew exponentially at many of our global BICSI events. The 2018 BICSI Middle East & Africa Conference, the largest MEA conference to date, saw delegates from 34 countries—more than 400 attendees representing 45 different nationalities. More than 30 sponsors filled the crowded Exhibit Hall, and for the first time, a conference application was available so delegates could access the conference schedule and complete session surveys digitally. Also exciting to announce is that the 2018 BICSI CALA District Conference & Exhibition in Bogotá, Colombia, was officially the largest BICSI conference outside of the United States and Canada. Nearly 1,060 attended the two-day event this past May, which included 40 exhibiting sponsors, as well as media coverage. In addition to conference attendance, BICSI membership has increased substantially in all parts of the world. No doubt about it, BICSI's global reach is strengthening by the day. bicsi.org/global Keeping the Momentum Going It's clear BICSI has made great strides in 2018. We continue to strengthen BICSI's worldwide leadership role in the ICT industry as we evolve our educational and credentialing resources, and further enhance our membership and conference experiences. And we have no intention of slowing down! q FEATURE q Page 5
