GLOBAL q Page 10 BICSI courses have been independently evaluated for Continuing Professional Development purposes by The Continual Professional Development (CPD) Certification Service. This signifies that BICSI courses comply with universally accepted principles of CPD and have been structured to meet the criteria of personal development plans. CPD certified training means the learning activity has reached the required CPD standards and benchmarks. CPD hours are required by many professionals in the UK and internationally to demonstrate they are staying current with the latest in industry and professional trends, technologies, best practices, etc. Training approved for CPD can be found at cpduk.co.uk/directory/search/bicsi#results. In addition, BICSI is also an American Institute of Architects (AIA) Continuing Education System (CES) Approved provider. BICSI design courses not only satisfy AIA credential holders' general learning unit hour requirements, but also the coveted Health, Safety and Welfare (HSW) learning unit hour requirements. This gives AIA members a deeper understanding of why inclusion of an RCDD ® on staff is critical in order to accurately access a building owner's telecommunications needs, and to design and implement a plan that allows for imminent growth with minimal costs for later upgrades. Visit bicsi.org/aia for more information. q BICSI South Pacific Affiliate CEO Paul Stathis, BICSI Executive Director & CEO John D. Clark Jr., CAE, and BICSI Vice President of Global Development & Support Paul Weintraub, RCDD, ESS, RTPM, TECH, CAE (above) attended the Association Leadership Forum, Asia Pacific, presented by the American Society of Association Executives. The event was held October 29-31 at the Grand Hyatt Singapore. John took part in a panel discussion with other secretary generals from associations around the world titled, "Secretary General Panel Conversation: Maximize Local, Regional and National Opportunities for Your Association." The leaders shared how they engage with their staff, members and stakeholders to maximize local, regional and national opportunities. Paul led a "Deep Dive and Conversation: Evaluate Growth Strategies for Associations." In today's competitive landscape, providing value to members and the community is essential to grow an association, both regionally and internationally. Like for-profit organizations, associations need to constantly adapt to meet the needs of an increasingly informed and ambitious market. The discussion explored how associations can manage the risks of transitioning into new markets while managing limited human capital and financial resources. q CPD Certified and AIA Approved BICSI CEOs and VP of Global Development & Support Attend Association Leadership Forum in Asia Pacific
