For the 8th consecutive year, Savannah's historic Forest City Gun Club will be the site of the Sporting Clays Shoot to benefi t Pockets Full of Sunshine (PFS) on Friday, March 8. There are many volunteer opportunities and worthy fundraisers this time of year. These events can be fun and sometimes there's a prize to be won, but more important is the chance to give back. Locals Fuzzy Davis and Carol Bartholomew teamed up to create this unique fundraiser to support the Special Needs community. Again, this year the proceeds will help grow a fairly new non-profi t organization, PFS, benefi tting adults with disabilities. The mission is to create vocational and social opportunities and engage the special adults in our community. The venue has grown to become an annual favorite drawing shooters of all levels from near and afar. The private and prestigious Forest City Gun Club is America's oldest, continuously-operated skeet, trap and sporting clays shooting club and is situated over 537 acres. The event has an authentic atmosphere of spirited camaraderie and competition. Exclaims Fuzzy Davis, "the event has an awesome vibe! At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter how many clays you've broken, your doing a fun thing for a great cause" Participants, sponsors, and volunteers are all treated to a one- of-a-kind experience with a full day of food, exhibition, shooting, awards & reception. The day also includes an auction highlighting handcrafted and screen-printed items made by PFS's "Rays". New this year is a raffl e for a Caesar Guerini "Magnus Sporting" shotgun. Raffl e tickets are available to anyone and you do not have to be present to win. Raffl e tickets are $25 each or 5 for $100. The event is open to shooters of all abilities. Create your own team of 4 or sign up as an individual and we will pair you up. Sponsorship opportunities are available as well. Register on line by visiting our website, www. pocketsfullofsun.org, or contact Carol Bartholomew at 843-384-1315.
