16 April 2019 Tablets & Capsules F ilm-coating technology has undergone a steady evolu- tion over the last half century. At the beginning, film coating was limited to some extent by the need to rely on the use of organic solvents. However, beginning in the late 1970s, technological improvements in processing equipment and related technologies enabled a gradual adoption of aqueous coating formulations, a trend that facilitated an increase in the number of film-coated prod- ucts introduced into the marketplace.
