Lush Look
Although it's located in a home rooted in the farm-house
style, this new bathroom draws inspiration from
Moroccan shapes and vivid color mixed with the geo-
metric forms of Art Deco.
The transitional space is anchored by a Mediterranean
blue-painted vanity with subtle detail in the frame and
paired with Venetian green ogee drop floor tile.
Luxurious gold glitter grout captures rays of sunshine.
A medley of mixed materials gives the space a lush feel.
These include brass, bronze, white concrete, and glass
mosaic. Live-edge walnut floating shelves with bronze
hardware add a place for personal items or house
plants, while materials are mixed with architectural
elements to establish a luxurious retreat meant for
inspiring the day. —N.F.M.
Easy Access
The designer's client asked for a bathroom suitable
for living in place that could accommodate a
wheelchair in the future, but executing this wish list
was no easy task. The space was too small to
accommodate the client's needs: some sections of
wall were unsuitable for grab bars, and the doorway
was too narrow, among other limitations.
Ariana Adireh redesigned the space so a wheelchair
is able to move through the entire bathroom from the
no-threshold door to the curbless shower. She also
expanded the doorway and redesigned the walls to
accept grab bars. Other notable touches include a
foldable shower bench, heated floors, and new tile to
aid depth perception. —N.F.M.
