Now that their babies are with other chicks – they watch out for each other
and play together – Finn and Fiona can go out together again to get food for
them until they are big enough to go swimming for themselves.
It takes a whole colony of penguins and a lot
of teamwork to raise baby Fiordland Penguins,
but when everyone helps, it's child's play.
Together, the parents care for their
new chicks until they are old enough
to meet all the other families' babies
that hatched nearby.
Soon all the chicks start to play
together in what is called a creche.
Finally the
eggs hatch.
Finn returns
again to look
aer the chicks
and Fiona swims
off into the sea on
short trips to find
food for them all.
