Over the last couple of years, artificial intelligence (AI) has become one of the leading
discussion topics within the built environment, specifically as it applies to the AV
industry. There are a lot of misconceptions on exactly what this technology will bring
to the industry. Will AI replace an individual's job? Will it be too complicated to use?
Adoption within the AV industry is still in the very early stages, and there is much
exploration and testing of different ideas. End users are learning what makes sense.
Before trying to incorporate any aspects of AI into their day-to-day operations, end
users should have a firm understanding of their own AI desires or hire an ICT profes-
sional or ICT design consulting company that has a firm understanding of AI.
To prepare for the future of AV, it is important to capture an overall understanding
of AI, the possible applications within the built environment, ICT implications,
and what possibilities there will be for the ICT professional moving forward.
