The homeowner wanted to update her entertaining
and family spaces, and replace the existing wine
closet. The new wine room features a wider opening
with an eyebrow arch, and an open, expanded wine
display outfitted with wine pegs, a storage cabinet
and stacked stone. The cooling unit for the wine
enclosure functions discreetly in the joist space
behind the wine room. Its unsightly supply vents are
strategically camouflaged by a faux beam, which also
hides immovable plumbing vents. New mantels and an
entertainment center were installed in the family room.
The improvements coordinate perfectly with the
eclectic style of the home, increasing storage and
functionality throughout.

After living in the home for 20 years and raising
their children, this couple decided to treat
themselves to a kitchen remodel that would
encourage more entertaining, while being a
welcoming place for their kids to return with their
families. The kitchen project expanded into a
remodel that incorporated the family room into the
total useable space. Creating a new opening and
widening the existing opening, connected the
spaces and improved flow. Fine details such as
brushed brass lighting fixtures and door hardware
complement the craftsmanship of the coffered
ceiling and trim details throughout. Accent pieces
of cabinetry in Stardust Blue contrast with the
white cabinetry and quartz countertops.
