What type of company is Meadow Lark Country Club? The Meadow Lark Country Club is a full-service private club for its members and guests. The club features the best golf experience in central Montana with 18 holes, diving range, putting green, short game practice area, and a full-service pro shop. The courts facility offers the only indoor tennis/pickleball courts in Great Falls along with outdoor courts and a tennis pro shop. The club also offers a large outdoor pool complete with a tiki bar and snack bar. Other amenities include an exercise facility, locker rooms, and sauna. Full-service dinning and lounge are offered with a river view and riverside outdoor dining in the summer. How long has Meadow Lark Country Club been in Great Falls? Founded in 1919, the Meadow Lark Country Club has been a part of the community for 101 years. Originally, the club property consisting of 248 acres was the Meadow Lark Dairy owned by Paris Gibson the founder of Great Falls. This is how the club got its name. There were 130 founding members each buying a stock certificate for $500 to raise the money to purchase the land and start the country club. One of the original members was Charlie Russell, the famous western artist. The golf course opened July of 1920 with just nine holes, the other nine in development. The clubhouse was completed in 1921 and still stands today, with many remodels and additions, of course. What brought you to or why did you choose Great Falls? I came to Great Falls 11 years ago as the general manager of MLCC. This is my second country club to manage. Great Falls is a unique and wonderful community with so much to offer families, with endless outdoor recreational opportunities. How many employees did it start out with? How many employees do you have now? Meadow Lark started out small 101 years ago, adding amenities through the years and growing into what it is now. During the peak of the season, the club employs over 120 people. What are the company values? Goals? The company values are centered around good sportsmanship, and a safe family-friendly environment. The goal of the club is to be an asset to the members and community, offering a unique social and recreational experience in Great Falls. What is unique about your business? One of the most unique things about the club is that it is located along the Missouri River and just minutes from downtown Great Falls.
