The Great Falls Museum Consortium is delighted to host this event. Let your adventures begin! May Cruisin' The Drag The kick off to summer car shows, for more than 20 years on the 1st Saturday in May, Downtown Great Falls fills with car enthusiasts from around the region for Cruisin the Drag. This free event is designed to show off the best antique, collectible, and one- of-a-kind cars. Nine blocks of Central Avenue fill with cars, trucks, motorcycles, and camper trailers owned by the most passionate gear heads around. This family-friendly event boasts over 800 vehicles, from an original Model T to a souped- up Dodge Charger, and everything in between. Adding to the fun is a downtown scavenger hunt, food vendors, and unique shopping only found in Great Falls. Event organizers estimate that more than 20,000 people will attend the show. Stroll through downtown for what will be a beautiful day, enjoy classic cars, and discover a part of Great Falls you've never seen before! Military Appreciation Days Downtown The Downtown Chicks, a committee of the Downtown Great Falls Association, in recognition of Armed Forces Day and Veteran's Day, host Military Appreciation Days in Downtown Great Falls in May and November. Active duty, retired military, veterans, guard members, and their family members, are encouraged to look for the flyer posted in windows throughout stores and restaurants downtown indicating a business is offering a discount. The event typically runs Thursday - Saturday the week of the designated holiday. Summer Events Brothel Tours The Downtown Chicks, a committee of the Downtown Great Falls Association, offers a glimpse into the past with historical tours and stories of the "Working Girl" side of Great Falls. The oldest profession in Downtown Great Falls is narrated by characters from the past as guests tour around on the Historic Trolley. Tours are offered throughout the summer months. Downtown Summer Jam Come and get your party on during select weeknights in the heart of downtown Great Falls. For three nights each summer, Central Avenue is shut down and you can see Nashville touring artists throw one heck of a street party. These are ticketed events and food and beverage vendors are available including a wide range of options from The Mighty Mo Brewing Company. Previous artists included The Quaker City Night Hawks, Logan Mize, Waterloo Revival, The Cadillac Three, and more. Great Falls Farmers Market On Saturday mornings from June through September, locals and visitors flock to Whittier Park. As many as 150 vendors from the heart of Montana's Golden Triangle fill the market on late spring and warm summer days, selling produce, meat, crafts, and an assorted array of oddities and specialties. The biggest family-friendly social and shopping event in Montana. 140+ vendors sell produce, baked goods, crafts, concessions, pony rides, and so much more. Music on the Mo - Community Market and Family Festival The Downtown Great Falls Association hosts a summer long concert series in Gibson Park, featuring live music, family friendly events, and a variety of food vendors. Music on the Mo is a free event hosted on various Thursdays during the summer, visit exploredowntowngf.com for a list of dates. June Spring Fling Hoop Thing Montana's largest 3-on-3 basketball tournament promotes fun, amateur athletics, sportsmanship, and physical fitness in a drug and alcohol-free environment. Nearly 300 teams inundate the Montana ExpoPark. Ballers of all ages and skill levels strut their stuff, and fans cheer them on to victory and prize money. Proceeds benefit the youth of the community through the Alliance for Youth. Lewis and Clark Festival The annual Lewis and Clark festival is held each year at Gibson Park in downtown Great Falls for three days. The festival highlights the Lewis and Clark Expedition and their stay in the Central Montana area in 1805. Observe reenactors in historic dress, as they re- create the adventures of the Corps of Discovery and talk about their life along the Missouri. Learn how they worked and what they found. Included in the festival are historical demonstrations, Native American dancers and drummers, children's activities, a black powder, firearms demonstration and more! Past years have included float trips on the Missouri, a boat tour of the Gates of the Mountains, or a historical bus tour.
