Siemens, IBM, Red Hat collaborate on IIoT service solution to better harness data Siemens, IBM, and Red Hat have announced a collaboration that will use a hybrid cloud to gather real- time value from operational data to improve how manufacturers use the industrial internet of things (IIoT). According to a report from IBM, a single manufacturing site may produce as much as 2,200 tera- bytes of data but most of that data goes unanalyzed. Siemens Digital Industries Soft- ware will apply IBM's open hybrid cloud approach, which is built on Red Hat's OpenShift, to extend the deployment flexibility of Mind- Sphere. MindSphere is an IIoT service solution that uses analytics and artificial intelligence to power IoT solutions either on-site or in the cloud. The service solution is used by organizations to collect and analyze real-time sensor data from products, plants, systems, and machines. This data allows
