Rotary continuous mixer handles high-volume mixing applications Model RCM-60X20-SS rotary con- tinuous mixer uniformly blends primary bulk ingredients, minor ingredients, and liquid additions uniformly in 1 to 2 minutes res- idence time (typical), at low cost per volume of blended material. Mixer employs a 20-foot-long by 60-inch-diameter rotating cylinder with internal mixing flights that impart a gentle tumbling action, distributing ingredients with each degree of drum rotation. Mixer doesn't generate shear or heat, eliminating or minimizing mate- rial degradation. Mixer has an internal stainless steel spray line plumbed through the stationary discharge end to permit liquid coat- ing, dedusting, or perfuming of dry ingredients. Mixer's discharge features a weir, creating a resident material bed that gently mixes as it travels through the drum, ulti- mately overflowing the weir and discharging at rates determined by the rotating cylinder's residence volume and the material's inflow rate. Mixer can have a reversing discharge weir to evacuate material at the end of production runs. Mix- er's 30-horsepower gear-reduced motor rotates the mixing drum at slow speeds on external trunnion rollers, minimizing energy con- sumption and eliminating the need for shaft seals.
