May 2021 / 31 PBE SPECIAL SECTION Rotary Airlocks This product summary is designed to help you find useful information on a variety of rotary airlocks. The information reported here is furnished by the manufacturers; no product endorsement is intended. Rotary Airlock Multi-Duty (MD) airlock is universal and used to meter dry bulk materi- als under feeding devices, such as bins, hoppers, mixers, screw conveyors, and sifters. Rugged airlock is also suitable for use in dilute-phase vacuum, pressure, or combination pneumatic conveying systems. Airlock's low mounting height and wide flange make it suitable for various installa- tion requirements. Airlock's domed hopper cover and open- bottom frame speed and optimize draining during and after washdown cycles. Airlock's rotor, cast housing, and square-flanged endplates are precision machined for accuracy and close tolerances. Schenck Process, Kansas City, MO 800-558-0184 www.schenckprocess.com/us Rotary Airlock Valve Rotary airlock valve maintains an airtight seal at the discharge of a cyclonic dust collector while automatically feeding bulk waste into hoppers or trans- fer blowers, ensuring peak airflow performance. Airlock features a helical drive, a 0.25-horsepower high-efficiency gear motor, and a steel and rubber rotor. Airlock is suitable for use with the supplier's dust collection systems that are 5 horsepower or larger. Airlock runs at a slower rotational speed (13 rpm) than competitive products for reduced energy usage, quieter opera- tion, and less wear and tear. Oneida Air Systems, Syracuse, NY 800-732-4065 www.oneida-air.com Rotary Airlock Feeder V-series rotary airlock feeder handles dry, fine powder or granular mate- rial efficiently in vacuum or pressure pneumatic conveying systems operating in either dilute-phase or dense-phase conveying mode. Feeder can be used for applications where a pressure tank system was previously the only choice, saving costs. Feeder's large-diameter flow channel and high volumetric efficiency can achieve efficient linear operation at up to 30 rpm. Feeder's features include an efficient shaft-sealing design, flexi- bility for different system configurations and materials, a variable-speed drive for adjustable capacity, and an abrasion-resistant design to withstand harsh materials. Feeder is NFPA and ATEX rated. FLSmidth, Bethlehem, PA 610-264-6011 www.flsmidth.com
