This client is a polio survivor who uses her
motorized wheelchair full-time. As her home's
stair lift became challenging to use, she needed
the flexibility to more easily navigate her main
floor and transfer between the main floor and
basement. Now an all-glass elevator provides
access to all levels. The open floor plan is easier
to maneuver and includes an expanded kitchen
with wider traffic flow, an extended island, and a
roll-in pantry. The half bath includes a sink that
the owner can roll up to, and a straight path to
the commode. A larger concrete front porch and
ramp now provide additional barrier-free access
into and out of the home.

The rear of the property had an existing garage
that was constantly being flooded by the rain.
Water intrusion was an understatement. "He"
wanted to solve the drainage issue and have a
garage capable of housing multiple cars,
motorcycles, and a workshop, and thought, "Why
not add an outdoor kitchen?" "She" was tired of
having a pond for a pool and thought, "Oh yeah,
why not add a guest quarters?" After much
consideration of a remodel, a new structure was
deemed necessary. The new structure features a
guest house with pool bath, guest quarters, garage
and a fabulous outdoor kitchen.
