CPHI Frankfurt PharmTech: This year's CPHI event is being held in Frankfurt, Germany. What is especially attractive about Frankfurt as a host city? Anderson: As Europe's largest pharma economy with a deep history in process and life sciences inno- vation, Germany's pharma reputation is undisputed. Not surprisingly, Germany's pharma industry came top in many of the CPHI Annual Report rankings— from the quality of its API manufacturing to biolog- ics—and Frankfurt is its commercial capital, so it's the perfect host city. Additionally, CPHI is, of course, a global hub, and Frankfurt is ideal to bring together an international audience aided by the Messe, which offers world-class exhibition capabilities. Meeting after COVID-19 PharmTech: How does the integrated in person/virtual event create both challenges and opportunities in 2022? Anderson: Our biggest challenges and opportuni- ties in 2022 are often the same things! Even though CPHI has been at the heart of pharma for decades now, our mission to serve the pharma community means we continually evolve what we do to meet the community's changing needs. And that creates both a challenge and an opportunity for us.
