The event is produced by New Hope Natural Media and co-located with Engredea and the Next Innovation Summit. Organizers expect more than 60,000 attendees and 2,500 exhibits featuring dietary supplements, organic products, natural and specialty foods and beverages, and health and beauty products. The Next New Product Pavilion hosts first-time exhibitors and trending products. Conference Educational sessions begin on Thursday, March 6, with a workshop on serving the needs of consumers who follow gluten-free, kosher, halal, vegan, and other specialty diets; a session on GMO labeling proceeds it. Afternoon sessions include an export strategies workshop led by international trade experts, and a seminar on how marketing to men and women should differ. Friday begins by addressing future health and wellness trends for brand marketers, followed by sessions on nutrition and pregnancy, the evolution of integrative medicine, global perspectives on vitamin D, and a look into emerging consumer preferences. Late afternoon sessions cover defining "natural," as well as marketing to distinct demographic segments, with a focus on Hispanics. Saturday's fare includes "Understanding the Difference between Real Science and Marketing Science," new research and trends in women's health, how to compete with online mega-retailers, and preparing your products and ingredients to meet non-GMO standards. Featured speakers Keynote speaker Raj Patel, author of The Value of Nothing, will address the question, "How will we feed 10 billion people sustainably?" Pioneer of integrative medicine, Dr. Andrew Weil, will also speak. Actress Marilu Henner, who has been diagnosed with the rare condition "highly superior autobiographical memory," will speak on nutrition and brain health. Co-located conferences The Next Innovation Summit, colocated at the nearby Anaheim Hilton, March 5-6, is an educational and product-development conference aimed at promoting innovation based on science and technology, case studies, and market intelligence. It will emphasize "next-generation" ingredients, emerging markets, consumer trend data, and regulatory constraints. Engredea—same dates and site as NPEW—features suppliers and manufacturers that source ingredients and provide packaging, equipment, technologies, and services.
