ment manufacturers and, to serve vegetarian markets, plant-based (HPMC) capsules.
HPMC capsules are kosher- and halal-certified and available in a variety of sizes
and colors, including clear. Custom capsule design and printing are also available.

HPMC capsules
K-Caps HPMC capsules are suitable for all types of products, including liquids and
moisture-sensitive formulations. Capsules resist cross-linking and, when compared to
other HPMC capsules, run better on automatic capsule fillers, reducing downtime
and waste. Capsules have no preservatives, allergens, or starches; are halal and kosher
certified; and are considered GRAS by the FDA. They come in sizes 00 to 4, includ-
ing 0el. Company also supplies gelatin capsules derived solely from bovine hide. It is
the only capsule manufacturer that owns the plants that supply its gelatin.

Anti-leak capsules
Embo Caps LP+ two-piece capsules are manufactured on unique mold pins that
reduce the clearance between capsule cap and body, minimizing leaks after filling
and before banding or sealing. Four dimples on cap's groove lock the capsule to pre-
vent separation after filling. Capsules are suitable for hot melts, heavy slurry prod-
ucts, and other fills deemed difficult for softgel encapsulation. They are available in
three types: LP+ VG capsules made from HPMC; LP+ Fish for marine-derived
omega-3 formulations or those that require low oxygen permeability; and LP+ PEG
(polyethylene glycol) capsules for hygroscopic formulations.
