DEAN Indiana University Kokomo seeks a visionary and energetic leader to serve as the Dean of the School of Business. The School offers the B.S. in business with concentrations in accounting, finance and economics, management, marketing, and management informa- tion systems, and also houses the Center for Economic Education. The School offers a general evening MBA program. The School holds accreditation from the AACSB International. Reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, the Dean is ex- pected to provide leadership and advocacy in a collegial and collaborative manner. Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must possess an earned doctorate in one of the disciplines taught in IU Kokomo's School of Business; a record of excellence in teaching, service, and scholarship commensurate with appointment to full professor with tenure subject to approval by IU's Board of Trustees; minimum of three years experience as an academic administrator at the level of dean, associate dean, or department head in a school of business; a commitment to shared governance and collaboration; a commitment to diversity; a commitment to regional economic development; success in obtaining external funding including gifts, grants, and/or contracts and in the development and maintenance of positive working relationships with businesses, donors, alumni, faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders; success in curriculum development, program expansion, student recruitment and retention, faculty recruitment and development, and fiscal management; and excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. In addition, the new Dean of the School of Business must have direct accreditation experience with current AACSB International's maintenance of accreditation standards. Faculty of the School of Business including the dean are expected to be excellent teachers and academically or professionally qualified according to the School's standards. Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with earned doctorate from an AACSB or ABA accredited school and with professional work experience. Salary: Salary is AACSB peer competitive with excellent Indiana University benefits. Starting Date: This is a 12-month appointment which will begin on July 1, 2010 or at a negotiable date.
